The four year course of study offered at Ilan is a college preparatory program which prepares the students to successfully pursue all levels of higher education. Ilan offers a rigorous academic curriculum that exceeds New Jersey state requirements, including a college partnership option through Fairleigh Dickinson University beginning in 11th grade to students who wish to accelerate and earn college credits. Ilan High School offers a rich selection of Advanced Placement (AP) and elective courses.

Our success can be attributed to our extensive tracking system, which allows teachers of parallel classes to teach the same curriculum while, at the same time, adjusting it to the abilities of their particular student group. These small classes afford teachers maximal opportunity to interact meaningfully with their students. We offer regular and advanced classes in each of the four core subjects. We also offer customized accelerated coursework for students who enter Ilan with advanced standing.

To achieve our goals, Ilan provides the support of a strong guidance program, which assists each student in choosing a course of study which best reflects her talents and interests. Our extensive college guidance program begins in ninth grade with informational meetings and academic planning, as our director of college guidance works with students, teachers and parents to optimize higher education opportunities. We are proud that over 90% of our graduates have been accepted to their first choice colleges and universities.

Ilan offers extended learning opportunities through the use of quality audio-visual materials  and internet streaming in our fully wired classrooms. We also utilize our state-of-the-art computer room to enhance instruction through interactive programs designed to interest and reinforce traditional classroom instruction.

The comprehensive goal of our program, spanning all core disciplines, is placing sustained emphasis on an in-depth development of our students’ analytic and critical thinking skills on a seamless cross-curricular continuum as they mature from year to year.
