Mrs. Raizi Chechik, Head of School |

Mrs. Raizi Chechik attended BJJ Seminary and studied Tanach and counseling at Michlala Jerusalem Teachers College. She holds a master’s degree in Jewish history and has completed doctoral work as well. Mrs. Chechik developed curricular materials for the Sephardic Studies Institute at the City University of New York, following a summer fellowship at Columbia University. She is the recipient of numerous professional and academic awards, among them the Chouraqui-Alderman Award for excellence in Judaic Studies and the national Grinspoon Award for Excellence in Jewish Education. Mrs. Chechik holds certification from the Intensive Training Program in Day School Leadership of Yeshiva University, which she attended on an Avichai Foundation Fellowship. A talented, caring, and creative educator, Mrs. Chechik has nearly two decades of experience in education and administration, most recently as the Assistant Principal of Manhattan High School for Girls.

Mrs. Hena S. Diamond, Judaic Studies Principal |

Mrs. Diamond holds a degree in education and teacher certification from the Beth Jacob Teacher's Seminary. Over the course of her career, Mrs. Diamond has participated in extensive ongoing training in methodologies and student support, among them the Research for Better Teaching. A very beloved and respected educator, Mrs. Diamond has over fifteen years experience in the education of young women, and has served on the Ilan administration for eleven years. Her synthesis of wisdom and compassion inspires students, teachers, parents and Ilan alumnae to seek out her wise counsel. The Ilan community greatly values the skilled leadership of Mrs. Diamond, who is a true role model at Ilan High School.

Dr. Heni Weisfogel, Director of College Guidance |

Dr. Heni Weisfogel, former Associate Principal at Manhattan High School for Girls, joins us this year as Director of College Guidance and instructor of AP United States History. Dr. Weisfogel, who previously served as the Director of College Guidance at MAYHS, brings to her position a wealth of experience assisting students and parents as they navigate the college admissions process and a broad network of university contacts in the tri-state area and beyond. A graduate of Stern College for Women and Brooklyn Law School, Dr. Weisfogel is committed to helping each student identify her optimal setting for higher education.
